Can The Dukan Diet Work For You?

Today it can be quite difficult to decide what you are going to do when you start a weight loss project. There are so many diets out there, and many people have different results with different diets – this leads to a big problem and that is not being able to decide.

There are low carb diets, low fat diets, fasting diets, cyclical diets, and the list goes on. One thing that never seems to stop working is an overall healthy lifestyle coupled with exercise on a regular basis. But not all of us can get to that pace right from the start, and we need easy guidelines to find those healthy foods. This is where the Dukan Diet comes in.

What is the Dukan Diet?

If you have heard of the French Paradox, you know that there is something magical about the way that the French live, and eat. They seem to be eating an unhealthy diet and make unhealthy lifestyle choices, but still they outlive most people and are thinner and healthier.

The Dukan Diet is supposed to be a way of eating which follows the way that the French eat, and it is an easy way for anyone to start following a healthy lifestyle. You don’t need fancy foods, but you need to make the right choices. But is this really true?

The goal is to introduce healthy lean meats and sufficient liquids in the beginning. After following a high protein beginning, one can start eating a really large variety of foods. Basically you can eat any meat and then couple it with any vegetables.

The whole purpose is to get you to the weight which is healthy for you, then slowly add carbohydrates to your eating until you learn an eating pattern which maintains your current weight and leanness. The honest truth about it is that the Dukan Diet has nothing to do with the French diet, and it would be insane for one to say that it has. It works, and Dukan has had great results with it with his clients, and thousands and thousands of people have tried it with success.
